I Will Never ....

Hi Guys,

We often hear someone says "Never say Never!".

However, I'm pretty sure that most of us will have some absolute nevers. For instance, some says that he/she will never get married, while some others claim that the war on terrosim will never be won.

As for myself, here are the top 3 I will Never:

3) I will never date a smoker (knowingly at least)

2) I will never be an alcoholic (It kills my sperm)

1) I will never allow myself to be sodomized (Ouch!)

Getting a nice lean body with zero effort?

Hi guys,

What if i told you that there is a way which you can get rid of all your ugly fats around your abs, thighs, hips and buttocks, looking like the above fitness models with absolutely no effort?......

Well, the answer is simple ................ Dream on!

It aint gonna happen, naturally at least. You may consider liposuction, which is effort free, but by no means FREE. Besides, there are complications about liposuction, which may not be suitable for everyone.

Okie, lets be frank, there's an old saying that goes "No pain, no gain". I dont mean literally putting yourself in great pain, but at the very least, you need to put in some effort to get what you want.If you fail to study for your exams, you screw it up. Study hard, and u get an honors degree. Its that simple! Yet, many of us are brain washed by the mass media which promises results without any efforts.

For instance, theres a popular local product out that looks like a belt which you can fix around your waist, thigh and buttocks and let the vibration do the fat loss. (You should know what Im talking about right? I'll rather I leave the name of the product out to prevent any potential lawsuit) Sounds cool right? Look at the model they engage for the product. Fantastic figure isnt it? Well, unless you are a guy who hasnt undergone puberty, or you're a gay, you'd have probably long realised that the model did not achieve her figure simply by using the product. She got this wonderful figure long before she was engaged as ambassador of this product. Moreover, if you understand the science of fat loss, you'll agree with me that it prob does no help at all. (If Yes, maybe you should consider staying in a country prone to earthquakes. There, you'll get so much vibration that im sure you'll be very slim in no time)

More evidence, you look at the popular slimming pills out there. Did the artists that were engaged have their figures before consming the pills? You be the judge.

Okie, i know, there're popular slimming centres out there that engage artists who had just given birth, sent them for intensive treatment, and there you go, photos of Before and after! What jaw dropping difference it made to them! So am i wrong? We can actually achieve good figures without trying, just go to slimming centres! Ahem, let me enlighten you a litttle. The moment you step into the slimming centre for help, one of the 1st things that the consultants will do is to educate you on your diet, and possibly exercise. What kind of food you need to avoid and prob what exercise you need to do in order to achieve fat loss. Yes, diet plays such crucial role in our fat loss that if you fix your diet well enough, you'll probably be much leaner and sexier.

We have 24 hours a day. Assuming we sleep 8 hours, we're left with 16 hours. Lets leave aside time for school/work, travelling, running errands, studying/OT, leisure and so on. How much time do we practically have left to workout? Not much! Ok, lets assume you're disciplined enough to exercise an average of 20 mins per day. Suppose you go for a jog, at a pace that is moderately challenging for most people (I'll reckon that to be around 10Cal per min). So you jog for 20 mins, thats around 200 Calories. So you're happy and go home, thinking you've had a great workout and decided to reward yourself with some nice food. You have a serving of char kway teow. After that, its time for dessert, maybe an ice cream or something? And you realise over time why you didnt manage to lose fats at all.

Let me tell you why. you know how much is 200 Cal of food worth? (well, in the first place most people cant even jog for 20 mins non stop) 200 Cal is only worth a bowl of rice! or 2 cups of HL low fat milk! Bloody hell! you jog like hell and thats only worth 2 cups of milk? Haa, yes, therotically thats true. (Btw, your char kway teow is worth at least 500 calories!) Im not asking you to not exercise, in fact exercising has its advantages in terms of fat loss which i will address in a later post. Anyhow, my point is, watch your diet 1st before anything else. You can exercise 1-2 hours per day (if you are that free), but you are eating almost 10-12 hours everyday. (including digestion) So what you eat is gonna play a much more important role in your quest for fat loss.

So, what to eat, and how to eat?

I'll tell you in my next post! Be back here again soon!

Bottom line1: You have to put in some sort of effort to look good. Dont be decieved by the mass media.

Bottom line 2: You are an idiot if you think that you can eat anything so long as you exercise

**Please stop doing sit up or crunches to get rid of your abdominal fats, i will update my blog soon as to how you can get rid of those fats**

The intricacy of Bodybuilding

As some of you might have known, Im pretty involved in recreational body building. I've been gyming religiously since 2004.

What arounsed my interest in body building? To be honest i cant remember. Perhaps the desire to look good? Well, when i first started lifting weights, I was a skinny bloke. I happened to be going through a very rough patch then (yeah, out of love, got dumped, I guess most guys go through these heartbreaks while serving the nation?). I was pretty devasted then. I ate little and my weight went down drastically. (To avoid confusion for those who have been following my blog, the last time i went through a breakup was 2004. The gal who was previously featured in my blog is my current gf & potential wife. Sorry gals, but she is probably the best gal on planet Earth :) ) Okie, lets not deviate too much from my contemplated topic of bodybuilding... So, my weight was 69kg when i just started. Now, 2.5 years later, I'm 85kg. (Yeah, solid 16kg heavier, Unfortunately, as u pack on muscle, its inevitable that you will also gain some fats. Currently, Im on a weight loss phase to shed off those fats gained (especially during the exams period)

My body is decent, but nothing fantastic. In fact 2.5 years is considered beginner in terms of bodybuilding. For people out there who thinks that going to the gym frequently will mean packing on loads of muscle and make you look like a muscle freak, thats probably the 2nd dumbest thought in this world (the dumbest will definitely be doing crazy amounts of sit up/crunches to get rid of the abdominal fats).

To be a muscle freak, (drug free wise) you need 5-10 good years of very very solid and committed training, coupled with very strict diet. Yes, 5-10 years! And Im talking about hard training, not going to the gym, do some bicep curl, bench press and abs exercise and call it a day. You need proper planning, proper routine, proper nutrition, working the whole body and progression to achieve the desired body. In fact, it wont be an understatement to say that body building is all about science.

Im not looking to be a muscle freak. Yeah, i agree some bodybuilders look scary, but its fair to say those really scary ones took steriods at some point of their bodybuilding careers. Genetically, we have an upper limit as to how much muscle we can possibly put on. Unless you're those with super genes, its not possible to pack on an awful lot of muscle (Btw, I heard that most WWE wrestlers are on drugs, I myself am not entirely sure.)

So what am i looking for in terms of bodybuilding? Simple, to look good! If you dont already realise, most tall people are thin in nature. (of cos some look really fat, thats becos of their lifestyle). This is mainly due to their long muscle fibres. The same volume of flesh, spread over a longer distance, will apparently look thinner. Im 1.84m tall, and was very skinny. So.. I train to be not skinny. My target is to look bigger (perhaps 90kg?), with decent muscle tone. Its not going to happen soon (remember bodybuilding is a life long time. We're talking about period of 10-20 years), but so long as I progress in the right direction, I'll be there in perhaps... 3-5 years time?

Sporadically, I have friends seeking advice from me about bodybuilding, fats loss and nutrition. Over time, i will post more topics with regards to these. You will be surprised there is so much to learn, with losing fats and especially abdonimal fats a main concern for most guys and gals. Just visit here once in a while and you may see some things which you are interested in? Hopefully, these information will be useful for those who are keen in working out, building muscle and losing fats. As always, you can feel free to seek advice from me (its free!) I'm no pro, but i read extensively and i believe i can offer some decent help to most people. Stay tuned!

Whale-Liam

This whale float was supposed to be a b'day gift (back in May) for my sis (In the pic). I promised to buy a pump to blow up the float. Somehow, i never did.

It seems that I'll take another 100 years before the pump finally arrives. Thus, i decided to do the spectecular and blow it with my bare mouth. My maid and gf thought it was a preposterous idea. Heck, I like to prove people wrong! Mission almost accomplished after 45 mins. I was left with the tail then. Seeing that im half dead, my gf volunteered to to blow up the tail (She told me that she didnt want to lose me becos of a whale. Haa!)

Standing tall, the whale is my height!

Ive decided to give it a name - Whale - liam

My sister seems delighted.

What the hell happened to me?

Well, Ive got alot of friends asking me why i havnt been updating my blog.

My apologies guys, have been busy... you know, working out, slacking, world cup and so on (yeah.. lame excuses)

Okay, so a quick update of what happened recently.

1) I bought an Acer laptop during the PC show. Its white in colour and im delighted with the purchase. One complain though, the mouse that was supposed to be a free gift only lasted for 2 days. (No brand, made in China, what can i expect?)

2) Together with my gf, i brought my sister, my god sister, my god sis's brother, my grand parents and my maid to the Zoo. Yeah, the Singapore zoological gardens. Pretty warm, but i guess the kids enjoy themselves. :)

3) Booked air ticket to Bangkok on July 5th-8th. Staying in 4 star hotel! Looking forward to their buffet breakfast! Haa!

4) I almost forgot about this - Got back my results. CAP 4.0 for this sem, overall on 3.94 now. Pretty decent i would say, but still slightly shy of 2nd upper. (Jia You for next sem! But that is next sem problem, now lets focus our attention on the world cup)

Okay, need to go now, 2nd half is starting soon!
