Examination Results

Results are finally released...

All in all, i would say its satisfactory, although im deeply disappointed with my grade for ES2007. Will probably ask for a review of my script.

Anyhow, my grades are as follows:

Organic Chemistry CM 2121:
Expected grade: Min A-
Actual Grade: A-

Analytical Chemistry CM 2142:
Expected grade: B or B+
Actual Grade: B+

Inorganic Chemistry CM 2111:
Expected grade: B- or B
Actual Grade: B+

Contemporary Medicine and Health PR1301:
Expected grade : Min A-
Actual Grade: A

Professional Communication ES2007:
Expected grade: B+ or A-
Actual Grade: B (@#!~!#@$#^##@!!)

CAP this sem : 4.2
Overall CAP: 4.04

I've finally managed to squeeze myself into the 2nd upper region. Next sem is gonna be tough, with physical chemistry as my absolute fear. Gotta work harder.

Looking forward to school again...

An accident that i witnessed

My middle finger hurts ever time i press a key on the keyboard of my laptop. Not that i've been pointing to people too often that it malfunctioned, but i hurt my left middle finger in the gym today. Hell, i wasnt careful and 26kg of weight landed on my poor little finger. I think there is a blood clot and it really hurts, even now.. Shit always happen in life, but im fortunate that the weights didnt land between my legs...

Anyhow, thats not my purpose of bloggging today. I witnessed an accident on my way home today after visiting a relative. The whole incident took place very near a bus stop. This girl, perhaps in her teens was standing behind a bus when a Honda sports car came accelerating at top speed. For some reason, she decided to dash across the road.

A loud and sudden horn...
The car jammed break...

I saw this girl thrown off the road. She literally flew upon the impact. Her shoes were off her feet.

I was shocked, i ran in front of the bus to get a clear sight.
This girl was lying on the gound. She didnt moved.

I looked carefully, thank god i didnt see the dreaded pool of blood.

I was about to call for ambulance when i realised someone else beside me had taken the initiative.

Being a paramedic while serving the NS has imparted me some basic life saving skills. I was contemplating if i should move forward to help. However, a doctor happened to drive by. She anxiously stopped by the curb side and attended to her. Obviously, a paramedic (whats more, army standard) is useless in such circumstance.

Interestingly, a police car arrived within 2 mins, even before most people could recover from the shock.

What is stunning is this:

The girl managed to stand up and shakily walk to the curb side after 10 mins!

My initial thoughts were that she must have fractured her limbs at best. Mind you, the impact was enormous. there was a huge dent on the car. Im of cos glad she survived, but im really amazed that she could even walk!

There was blood on her forehead, but i guess it was not directly due to the collision, but a result of the cut sustained as she landed on the road.

As the ambulance came and drove her off, i boarded my bus and wondered how fortunate she was. I soon realised something, she could have jumped as the car hit her. The dent on the car was more towards the bonet than the car plate area. As a result, the car probably didnt hit her lower limbs but her butt, and she was flung forward, her head sustainining a cut which accounts for her bloody forehead.

To sum it all. It was a bizzare accident. This girl got knocked down by a car. A police car arrived within 2 mins. A doctor happened to pass by. And she walked despite the heavy impact! Its like what we see on TV! (Im not cursing she should be more seriously hurt, but its just stunning....)

Nevertheless, i wish her speedy recovery.

Dear friends,

1) Pls be ultra careful while crossing the road.

2) If u're really going to be hit, then pls jump high and try to land on top of the car bonet. You may be thrown off as the car breaks, but the impact could be much less as compared to being hit by the front at top speed.

All in all, just be careful.

Life is precious. Treasure it.

To Hell with exams...

I study alot, but i can tell u i dislike studying. Who does?

Anyway, exams are over. Extreme relief for me. School term always means stress for me. stress and sleepless nights, coupled with overwhelming projects and assignments can make a man very different. Nevertheless, i am who i am now, at least for the whole of december.

Aim for the sky, u fall on the tree top.
Aim on the tree top and you fall flat on the floor.

Actions seldom meet expectations, dont they?...

My 1st paper was ES2007e.

Things have been going on well in that module. Presentation was awesome, project was marvolously crafted. An 'A' was much more than a possibility, it was a likelihood.

i walked into the exam hall feeling full of confidence...
my confidence was shattered after the paper.

now 'A' is perhaps a dream. Likely to get B+ or A-

2nd paper - PR1301 comtemporary medicine and health
This was a solid bet for A. Both my tests scored A+, 2 projects - A+ and A respectively.
Exam itself is pretty manageable although we have 2 essays to write.
Minimum grade should be an A-

Paper 3 - CM2142 Analytical Chemistry
This is my most fearful paper. I absolutely hate calculation based module.
Thank god the paper wasnt a killer.
Hoping for a B or B+ if im lucky.

Paper 4 - CM2121 Organic chemistry
I could be an organic chemist, and this is one i must do well. Perhaps the module i spent most time on. Worked my socks off for this module.

Prediction: At least A-

Last paper - CM2111 Inorganic chemistry
Hell, this paper sux. We had a vulgarity session for 30 mins non stop after the paper. The format totally changed and we have so many questions to do that we simply have no time to think. I believe most students fail to complete the paper. Everyone left the exam hall shaking their head.

What grade? I dare not predict. Maybe B- or B?

Exams are over. Let me rest now.
