Probably the Cleanest Driver In the World

Few will argue with me when i make the following regnant statement:
The cost of acquiring a driving licence is indeed exorbitant.

No one will disagree when i make another claim:
The cost of maintaining a car is ludicrous, especially with the ever rising petrol cost.

What is egnimatic however, is that most still yearn to drive. I'm no different. I'm almost reaching my 1 yr milestone since I recieved my driving licence.

Wonderously, I have such a clean record when it comes to driving.

Here are my staggering statistics:

No. of times speeding: 0
No. of times making illegal turns: 0
No. of times wheel clamped: 0
No. of parking fines: 0 (wah!)
No. of times beating red lights: 0
No. of times stopping illegally: 0

The next one is mind blowing:
No. of times using handphone while driving: Still 0 !!!

In fact, Im pretty sure that I'm probably one of the cleanest driver in this world.

Before u hop into my car the next time round, read this:

No of times driving since I got my licence: 0

Bagged 4 goals today

Its been quite awhile since we played street soccer. Today marks our return to action. Out of the 6 goals which my team scored, i made a telling contribution of 4 goals.

All 4 goals were well taken. The 1st one was a volley which found its way into the bottom corner.
The 2nd goal came shortly. Through on goal, the keeper rushed out but i kept my composure and cooly slotted the ball into the corner of the goal.

The next 2 goals were probabaly one of the highlights of today's game. Here's how the 3rd goal came: Winning possession from nearly the half court line , i dragged the ball wide to the right and unleashed a thuderbolt which flew right into the top corner. The kepper stood rooted to the ground, he had absolutely no chance.

Coincidental or not, the 4th goal came in similar fashion. From long range, the ball was struck with great vemon and shook the back of the net, this time round on the other side of the goal.

It was a statisfying display today.

Meanwhile, Wayne and Becks both put on commendable displays as well.

Playing through the pain barrier, Wayne (Owen) did well to score a goal with his weaker left foot. Despite his injury, he played out his heart and soul as he dilligently covered his duties well enough. Making runs into the box whenever the team attacks and tracking back to offer defensive cover, Wayne is starting to convince many that he will be back to his very best pretty soon. His goal will definitely boost his confidence as we hope he can totally overcome his injury soon and start scoring again.

Becks made some intelligent moves today - Some decent dribbling and sensible passing. With more luck, he could have had more than the 1 goal he scored today. As expected, his goal came from his favourite right foot as he won possession near the opponents' goal and comfortably scored.

Del Peiros however, had a day to forget. Apparently distraught and badly hit by news that his club is facing relegation to Serie B (after being proved guilty in match fixing scandals), the self proclaimed 'goal poacher' didnt even managed a single shot that is worth mentioning.

From a defensive point of view, he was dragged of out position on several occassions but recovered well enough to curb any potential danger. Fortunately, he redeemed himself with a few good saves while playing as keeper.

Hopefully, myself (Shearer), Becks and Owens will be able to continue our good form in the upcoming weeks while Del Pieros will have some transfer issues to sort out before the summer ends.

What makes the World Goes Round?

Its not gravity. Im not a fan of physics.

The cruel truth:

1) Money
2) Lust / sex
3) Power

Forget about love, altruism and compassion. There is no place for such virtues in the real and relentless world.

Im cynical of this bleak society.

What keeps me going is the people who are closest to me, those whom i forsee are truly genuine. Such people fall into my white zone. I trust, love and share with them. For those who arent inside my white zone, there's no trust. I still believe that man are essentially evil. And they will always disappoint.

Do i Need to Lower my expectations?

Without looking at the next line, ask yourself one question: What frustrates / disappoint you the most?

So.. have you finalised your answer?

Want to hear mine?

My Ans: People

If u dont already realise, people aways disappoints/ frustrates.

Cant u recall a single moment whereby you get pissed off with someone? Or that his/her actions left you absolutely disillusioned?

Surely, someone must have disapointed you at some point of your life. Let it be your previous nasty bf/gf, or him/her failing to fufil a promise.

The list of examples are infinite.

I'm not self-aggrandizing, but its no secret to my closest friends that i have very high expectations in myself, in whatever i do. It makes me uncomfortable when people fail to conform to the same level of expectation.

After a long chat with my good friend, jeff, we both agreed that i probably need to see people in a different light. I cant possibly expect the same of everyone. To save me the frustration and disappointment, Its time for me to lower my expectations...

No expectation = No disappointment/ frustration = I dont even need to write this blog!

Still Learning how to say 'No"

Im pretty soft hearted. As ironic as it seems, U can call it my greatest strength or my weakest link. On the commendable side, Im forgiving and pretty easy to pursuade.

Yet, this trait of mine could well turn out to be my greatest enemy. I've yet to master the technique to say 'no' on several occassions. To those agents on the road who stops people and ask them about savings plan, Im the best prey. I never had the courage to simply ignore them. Often, I'll entertain them. In fact, i signed up my first savings plan 3 years ago just because i felt obligated to the agent. (sounds crazy right? but yes, its true).

To people selling donation tickets, (Im not refering to those whereby u put in a 20cents coin and happily hop off, but im refering to those who ask u to donate $10 at one shot), they'll almost be sure to make me $10 poorer.

Morale of the entry: If u have something to sell, and you choose not to be mean to me, then please DONT ever approach me.

Thinking too much?

At some point of your life, you must have come across pessimistic individuals. Somehow, negative thoughts evolve around the minds of these people. Unfortunately, I belong to one of them.

"Think on the bright side!".. easier than said than done.

Often, our main problem is that we simply think too much, and ponder far too much. Thoughts after thoughts, we often sent our minds into a state of disarray, looking at things from the worst possible scenario. At times, we reach a point of absolute misery.

Thankfully, this doesnt happen all that often. Most often, you'll see the cheerful side of me. Once in a while however, Im absolutely desolated.
