A tribute to Alan Shearer

He plays his last game for Newcastle United today. My football idol of more than 10 years, Alan Shearer has finally decided to call it a day.

Alan has been a wonderful servant to Newcastle United. Worshipped by all Newcastle fans, Alan ended his illustrious career today after 10 great years at Newcastle United. He is the club's all time leading goal scorer with 206 goals.

Shearer's presence, both on and off the pitch will be sorely missed as we (Newcastle) look forward to the post Shearer era.

Gone may Shearer be, but he will forever stay in the hearts of any Magpie fan....
